Sachet Filling Machine
This machine was used to fill powder into sachets (also called pouches) that the machine itself made from a roll of suitable packaging material, usually of aluminium, plastic or paper.
The process begun with the formation of the sachet by feeding the packaging material downwards where it was folded and sealed longitudinally to form a tube, which was the sealed on three sides.
By means of a precise auger mechanism, the powder was fed into the hopper from where it would flow downwards by gravity into the open sachet. Once the sachet was filled, it would be sealed at the top, creating an airtight package.
The sealed sachet was then cut from the continuous roll, making it ready for distribution or further packing into carton boxes. This process is highly efficient and ensures consistent quality, making sachets a suitable packaging solution for products in powder or granule form, which have the advantage of dissolving quickly in water and therefore being available for absorption by the body faster. Such machines are used also in other industries such as food / dairy and cosmetics.
